The Midwest Conference released the list of 2021-22 Academic All-MWC honorees on Friday and 151 Forester student-athletes were recognized, the second-highest total in school history.
The criteria to become an Academic All-MWC selection includes a minimum grade point average of 3.33 during the entire academic year. Student-athletes who letter in any MWC sport are eligible for the award.
Men's soccer had a program record 21 players earn the award while men's basketball's 11 honorees were also the most in team history. Women's soccer and men's swimming and diving matched their program records with 17 and 11, respectively. Football posted Lake Forest's largest number of Academic All-MWC selections with 28 while women's track had the highest percentage with 8 of 10 letter winners listed. Of the College's 15 sports that compete in the MWC, 13 had at least half of the final roster mentioned in Friday's release.
Four Foresters - softball player Josie Klein and runners Mathieu Norcross, Audrey Paglia, and Christian Reyes - earned the award for the fourth time in their respective sports. Fifteen other seniors at the College made the list each of the three years the award was presented for their sports. There were no Academic All-MWC honorees in fall or winter sports in 2020-21 due to the cancelation of those seasons.
Lake Forest also competes in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (men and women), St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (men's and women's golf), Midwest Lacrosse Conference (men), and Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference and all-academic team honors in those leagues were announced shortly after the completion of each season. In all, a school record 208 Foresters earned conference academic honors in 2021-22.
