Forester 2021 Spring Sports Schedules Released

The Lake Forest College Athletic Department released the 2021 spring sport schedules ahead of Saturday's season openers for men's and women's tennis. The Forester softball, track, and golf teams will begin competing in March.

After playing at North Central College on Saturday and against another non-conference opponent or two in March, the tennis teams will play four-match Midwest Conference schedules in April with home and away contests against each of the other two teams in the North Division. The season will also include a three-round conference tournament culminating with the MWC Championship Matches on May 8 (men) and May 9 (women). The conference champs will advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Softball is slated to start with a non-conference doubleheader against Concordia University Chicago at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Illinois, on March 4. The team will also take on each of the other four MWC North Division members in non-conference action during the first half of April before starting a 16-game league schedule on April 17. The top team from each division will meet in a best-of-three series on May 15 to decide the MWC champion and recipient of the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

After competing in an indoor meet last Saturday, the Lake Forest track team will start the outdoor season at Elmhurst University on Saturday, March 27. The Foresters are scheduled to compete in at least four other meets before the 2021 MWC Outdoor Championships in May.

The Forester golf teams are also set to begin their 2021 seasons the final weekend in March with the men traveling to Galesburg, Illinois, for the Jim Wetherbee Memorial Invitational on Saturday and the women hosting Benedictine University in a dual match on Sunday. The teams will participate in several other events before the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships April 26-27 (men) and May 1-2 (women). Along with the league title comes a spot in the field at the NCAA Division III Championships.

Schedules for the College's fall sports competing this spring will be released at a later date.
