This Week in The Forest: Feb. 15-21

Season openers for several sports are coming up this week.

Women's basketball will get 2021 started with a home game Tuesday night and the men's team will play on the road a day later. Both teams will be in action again on Saturday with the men in the Sports and Recreation Center and the women away from home.

Saturday's slate also includes the first competitions of the year for the Forester track, swimming and diving, and women's hocky teams, which will all be on the road. The women's hockey team will then close out the week at home on Sunday.

Tuesday, February 16

7:00 p.m. - Women's Basketball - Lake Forest College (0-0) vs. Milwaukee School of Engineering (2-5, 2-4 NACC)
Where: Lake Forest College Sports & Recreation Center (no fans allowed due to COVID-19 pandemic)
Lake Forest's Last Game: None
MSOE's Last Games: Won 83-41 and 63-25 at Alverno College on Friday and Saturday
All-Time Series: Lake Forest leads 8-3
Last Meeting: Foresters won 77-74 on the road on November 8, 2019
Noteworthy: Raider head coach Hannah Trees was an assistant at Lake Forest for four years from 2015-19.

Wednesday, February 17

Concordia Chicago's Last Games: Lost 87-71 and 82-68 at Rockford University on Friday and Saturday
All-Time Series: Lake Forest leads 12-11
Last Meeting: Foresters won 85-78 on the road on November 29, 2001
Noteworthy: This is Lake Forest's first game against a member of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference since taking on Illinois Institute of Technology in November of 2015.

Noteworthy: This will be the Foresters' only indoor meet of the year and the program's first appearance in a meet at Illinois College.

12:00 p.m. - Swimming & Diving - Lake Forest College at Lawrence University
Where: Buchanan Kiewit Wellness Center in Appleton, Wis. (no fans allowed due to COVID-19 pandemic)
2020 Midwest Conference Championships: Lake Forest Women 1st, Men 2nd. Lawrence Women 5th, Men 3rd.
All-Time Series (dual meets): The Lake Forest women lead 21-8 and men 20-7
Last Dual Meet: The Forester women won 139-98 and the Lake Forest men prevailed 158-61 at Lake Forest on November 18, 2019.
Noteworthy: These two teams competed with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in a triple-dual format each of the last five years.

Noteworthy: The Foresters' victory in the last meeting between these two teams represents the Bulldogs' only loss at home in the last four seasons.
