Raquel Vescovi Named Head Tennis Coach at Division II Lewis University

Raquel Vescovi, the Foresters' head men's and women's tennis coach since 2016, has accepted the same position at NCAA Division II Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. She will conclude her tenure at Lake Forest on Friday, January 15.

Lake Forest's tennis teams combined for an overall record of 113-58 and a Midwest Conference mark of 50-10 under Vescovi's direction. The Forester women captured a league title in the fall of 2018 and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament the following spring. Lake Forest was part of the field at every four-team MWC Tournament during her tenure and she led both the men and women to a pair of finals appearances at the event.

Eleven different Foresters claimed a combined 18 individual conference titles since Vescovi took over and her players earned 30 Academic All-MWC honors over the last four years.

"It is difficult to put into words in how much I appreciate my time at Lake Forest College," began Vescovi. "This place was truly my second family and I will certainly miss seeing all of my players and fellow members of the Athletic Department, whose encouragement, conversations, advice, and tremendous support has meant a lot to me. I plan to keep in touch and cheer on the Foresters from afar!"

"Coach Vescovi has done a terrific job with our tennis programs over the last four-and-a-half years," noted Lake Forest College Interim Director of Athletics Blake Theisen. "The players' performance on the court and in the classroom and community has enhanced our tradition of excellence and we wish her the best of luck as she continues her coaching career elsewhere."

Scot Reinhart, Vescovi's assistant coach since the spring of 2017, will serve as the Foresters' interim head coach for both programs during the 2021 spring semester.
