Spring Sport Senior Spotlights

Monica Redfern came to Lake Forest from North Barrington, Illinois. She has earned nine total varsity letters, including two with the track team. She has also lettered twice each in cross country and handball.

Redfern earned Academic All-Midwest Conference honors for cross country in 2015-16 and track in 2018-19. She was also named to the Lake Forest College All-Sportsmanship Team twice for handball.

In track, Redfern has been limited during the indoor season by her participation in handball but ranks third in program history in the outdoor 400m.

She will graduate with dual degrees in Business and International Relations at the conclusion of the academic year.

Missy Dieckman-Meyer is a pitcher on the softball team from Amelia, Ohio.

After her sophomore year Dieckman-Meyer was named First Team All-Midwest Conference. She also earned Academic All-MWC honors as a sophomore and junior and has been the league's Pitcher of the Week once in each of her four seasons.

In 2019, she posted the program's fifth-highest single season victory total and her marks that year for winning percentage, complete games, innings pitched, shutouts, and saves also rank in the top 10 in team annals. Dieckman-Meyer will finish her career ranked tied-for-fourth in school history with 38 wins and sixth with a 2.40 earned run average.

In May, she will graduate with degrees in sociology and anthropology and communication.

Every Thursday for the next few weeks, we will be highlighting spring sport seniors and their accomplishments in their respective sports at Lake Forest College in lieu of our usual Forester Athlete of the Week.
