The softball and women's tennis teams compete in the NCAA Tournament and track runs at the Midwest Conference Championships this week.
A dramatic two-run home run gave the Forester softball team a 5-4 walk-off victory over St. Norbert College in the championship round of the MWC Tournament on Saturday. Along with the conference tourney title comes the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, where Lake Forest will be making its fifth appearance in the last six years. The 24-15 Foresters will travel to Central College for the regional tournament, which will also include the College of St. Benedict and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Lake Forest will take on Central, which is 26-8 and ranked 22nd in the nation, in Friday's opening round and the double-elimination event will conclude on Sunday.
The women's tennis team earned its spot in the NCAA Division III Tournament field by defeating St. Norbert College and Grinnell College by the same 5-0 score during the MWC Tournament on April 25. The Foresters, currently ranked 13th in the Central Region, are now 21-3 on the season and will be one of seven teams competing at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater this weekend. Lake Forest will face off against Luther College (15-9) in Friday's first round and the winner will face the University of Chicago, the top-ranked team in the region, in the second round on Sunday. The event continues with round three on Sunday. The other three teams at the event are Carleton College, Edgewood College, and the College of St. Scholastica.

After a weekend off from competition, the Forester track team travels to St. Norbert College this weekend for the 2019 Midwest Conference Outdoor Championship Meet. Lake Forest, which competes in distance events only, placed tied-for-seventh in the women's team standings and ninth on the men's side at the MWC Indoor Championships in February. Individual Foresters posted five all-conference performances at the league's indoor meet and are ranked among the top eight in seven different events going into the outdoor championships on Friday and Saturday.
