A handful of Forester teams head south this week for a total of 21 contests.
The tennis teams will lead off Spring Break against Washington College on Sunday at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort. The Lake Forest men are 2-5 on the young season and will be competing outdoors for the first time in 2019 against the 0-3 Shoremen. It will be the first match of the spring for the Forester women, who finished the fall with with victories in each of their 12 matches. The Shorewomen enter the contest at 1-1.
Both tennis teams will also face Navareth College (Men: 0-3, Women: 10-3) on Monday and Berry College (Men: 0-0, Women: 0-0) on Tuesday at Hilton Head High School. After a day off from competition, the men will battle Catholic University (0-5) at Hilton Head High School and Gordon College (1-3) at the Shipyard Racquet Club on Thursday while the women take on Georgetown College (3-2) at the latter location.
On Monday the Forester softball teams will begin competition at The Spring Games in Clermont, Florida, where they will play 10 different teams in a six-day span. Lake Forest went 2-2 indoors at The Ballpark at Rosemont last weekend and will open the trip against Wheaton College and Stockton University on Monday. Wheaton split its first two games of the year on Saturday and Stockton will play its season opener on Sunday.
Lake Forest will also take on Montclair State University (0-0 entering Sunday) and Amherst College (0-0) on Tuesday, SUNY Fredonia (1-3) and Carroll University (2-3) on Wednesday, Linfield College (8-1-1) and Rowan University (2-3) on Friday, and SUNY Geneseo (0-0) and Hope College (0-0) on Saturday.
The golf teams will play practice rounds at several courses in the Pinehurst area next week and each squad also has a dual match on its schedule. The men will play an exhibition match play event against Wisconsin Lutheran College at Southern Pines Golf Club on Monday and the women will take on Greensboro College at Bryan Park in Browns Summit on Wednesday.
