The Forester football team hopes to celebrate a Homecoming victory over Cornell College on Saturday.

Lake Forest opened Midwest Conference South Division play with a 35-0 victory at Knox College last Saturday and is now 3-2 overall on the season. It was the team's first shutout in a dozen seasons. Among the College's annual Homecoming festivities this weekend will be the Foresters' game against Cornell College at 2:00 p.m. The Rams dropped a 47-10 decision to Illinois College last week and are 2-3 this year. Lake Forest doubled up Cornell 56-28 last season and also came out on top of their previous two meetings to take a 9-6 lead in the all-time series.

There will also be four home soccer games this weekend, beginning with the men's match-up with Monmouth College Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Lake Forest will also host Knox College at the same time on Sunday. The Foresters dropped a 2-1 double-overtime decision at St. Norbert College, the 14th-ranked team in the country, last Saturday and are now 6-5-1 overall and 2-2-0 in MWC play. Monmouth enters the weekend 5-5-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the conference while Knox is 9-3-1 with a league mark of 4-1-0. Lake Forest defeated Monmouth but fell to Knox each of the last two seasons and owns a 38-9-3 all-time record against the two opponents combined.

NOTE: Saturday's men's and women's soccer games will be played on the soccer/softball field located behind Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

Women's soccer team is coming off a 5-0 loss at Carthage College on Saturday is now 4-9-0 overall on the year. The Foresters will also host Monmouth (6-5-0, 1-2-0 MWC) and Knox (8-2-2, 4-0-0 MWC) this weekend, with both games beginning at 1:30 p.m. Lake Forest went to overtime against both teams on the same weekend in 2017, playing to a scoreless tie against Knox and falling 2-1 to Monmouth, and have a combined record of 36-8-4 against them in program history.

The Forester volleyball team will be on the road this Friday and Saturday after defeating Grinnell College in four sets and falling to Cornell in three at home last weekend. Lake Forest is now 9-12 overall and 2-1 in conference play and will travel to Wisconsin to take on Lawrence University (3-18, 2-2 MWC) on Friday and St. Norbert College (7-11, 3-1 MWC) on Saturday. The Foresters were defeated in five sets by Lawrence and three by St. Norbert a year ago and are 47-47 all-time against the two opponents combined.

The cross country teams will also be competing away from home at Saturday's UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational. The Forester men are coming off a fourth-place finish at last Saturday's Gene Davis Invitational, which was hosted by Lawrence, while the women were sixth. More than 700 runners competed in Oshkosh's meet in 2017, where the Lake Forest men placed seventh and the women 10th.

Lake Forest's first conference championship of the 2018-19 academic year was secured last weekend by the women's tennis team, which prevailed 9-0 at St. Norbert and Lawrence on Saturday and at Ripon College on Sunday. The Foresters finished the dual match portion of the fall with an overall record of 12-0 and a conference mark of 9-0 to capture the fourth league title in team history. Lake Forest will travel to Madison, Wisconsin, this weekend for the MWC Individual Tournaments and players on the team are seeded first at six of the nine spots in the lineup.
