Lake Forest's women's tennis team could return from Wisconsin this weekend with a Midwest Conference title.

The Foresters planked Alverno College and host Beloit College 9-0 on Sunday to improve to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the league so far this year. Lake Forest will play at St. Norbert College (8-4, 5-2 MWC) and Lawrence University (4-7, 2-5 MWC) on Saturday and at Ripon College (7-3, 4-3 MWC) on Sunday needing victories in just two of the three matches to clinch the fourth MWC championship in program history. The Foresters defeated all three opponents last year.

The Lake Forest women's golf team will also be competing for a title at the MWC Championship Tournament at Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, Illinois, this weekend. The three-day event will begin on Friday. The Foresters, who placed second out of five teams at the Aldeen Preview on Sunday, finished third at the event and had three players earn All-MWC honors by placing among the league's top 10 a year ago.

The Forester volleyball team began its conference schedule with a three-set victory at Knox College on Saturday and is now 8-10 overall on the year. Lake Forest will play its final non-conference match of the regular season against visiting Carthage College (11-7) Tuesday night. The Foresters will then resume league play at home Friday night against Grinnell College (10-11, 1-0 MWC) before hosting Cornell College (7-6, 2-0 MWC) Saturday afternoon. Fans of the home team are encouraged to wear red on Friday.

The football team has yet to start MWC South Division play but that will change this Saturday when the 2-2 Foresters visit 0-4 Knox College. Lake Forest has split a pair of one-point decisions in the last two weeks, defeating Lawrence University 35-34 at home on September 22 before falling 28-27 at Macalester College last Saturday. The Foresters will be looking to extend their eight-game winning streak against the Prairie Fire.

Both soccer teams will be on the road this Saturday, the women in the afternoon at Carthage College and the men in the evening at St. Norbert College. The Forester women are 4-8-0 this season and the Lady Reds (5-3-2), who they have not played since 2014, will be their final non-conference opponent of the year. The Lake Forest men will put their 6-4-1 overall record and 2-1-0 league mark on the line at St. Norbert (9-0-1, 3-0-0 MWC), which enters the week ranked 23rd in the nation. The Foresters edged out the Green Knights 2-1 when they met last season.

After a weekend off, the Forester cross country teams will compete in Lawrence University's Gene Davis Invitational in Appleton, Wisconsin, this Saturday. The Lake Forest men are coming off an eighth-place finish while the women were 13th at the 27-team Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on September 21. They have not competed in Lawrence's home meet since 2014.
