This Week in the Forest: Nov. 20-26

With no home events this week, Boomer will be on the road seeking a Happy Thanksgiving.

The Foresters basketball teams will begin Midwest Conference play Tuesday evening at Beloit. The men, who defeated Great Lakes Christian College 101-76 and Carthage College 71-65 to win the Carthage Classic last weekend, are 2-1 so far this season. Lake Forest will be looking for its seventh consecutive win against Beloit, who split a pair of games last week. The Foresters will also look to snap a four-game skid against the University of Chicago when they travel to face the Maroons on Saturday.

The Lake Forest women's basketball team is coming off a 75-67 triumph over North Central College on Saturday and finished the first week of the season 1-2. The Foresters and Buccaneers, who are 0-2 so fat this year, split the 2016-17 season series with each team winning at home.

The only other Lake Forest team in action this week is men's hockey. The Foresters are 5-2-0 on the season after defeating Aurora University 7-1 on Saturday at Johnny's IceHouse West, the practice home of the Chicago Blackhawks for the last seven years. They will travel to Winona, Minnesota, to face off against Saint Mary's University of Minnesota (2-5-1) on Friday and Saturday. The programs have met 50 times in the past with each team posting 23 victories and four ties. The Cardinals posted a pair of 2-1 victories when the teams last met four years ago.
