The Foresters will compete in four different states this weekend, including the volleyball team right here at home.

Three of the Lake Forest College volleyball team's four matches this week will be played in the Sports and Recreation Center, beginning Tuesday night against visiting Wheaton College. The Foresters defeated Benedictine University in four sets on Friday before prevailing in five sets at Dominican University. The team is now 5-6 on the season while Wheaton enters the week 2-8. Lake Forest will also travel to Carthage College (7-3) on Friday before hosting Robert Morris University-Springfield (0-4) and Concordia University Chicago (11-4) in a triangular on Saturday.

The Forester women's soccer team will also be in action at home on Tuesday, hosting Elmhurst College. The Bluejays are 3-1-0 so far this season while Lake Forest is off to a 2-5-0 start after winning two of three games last week. Elmhurst took last year's meeting 1-0 in overtime. The Foresters will also travel to Iowa to open Midwest Conference play this weekend. After playing at Cornell College (0-7-0) at 1:00 Saturday, afternoon, the team will take on Grinnell College (2-4-0) Sunday morning at 11:00. Lake Forest defeated Cornell 3-1 and tied Grinnell twice last season.

The Lake Forest men's soccer team will play right after the women at Cornell and Grinnell this weekend. After edging out visiting Carroll University 3-2 on a goal in the 89th minute on Sunday, the Foresters are 3-3-1 on the year. Cornell enters the week at 2-3-0 and Grinnell at 2-5-1. Lake Forest edged out Cornell 3-2 and split a pair of one-goal games against Grinnell in 2016.

The Forester women's tennis team is coming off conference victories over Lawrence University, Ripon College, and St. Norbert College at home last weekend and is now 9-1 overall and 5-1 in the league this season. The team will join several other college from this area of the country at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament in Oberlin, Ohio, this weekend. Play will begin on Friday and end with the championship match on Monday.

Like several other sports at the College, the Lake Forest women's golf team is also coming off a run of success, having won its last three events. After defeating Benedictine University in a dual match on September 8, the Foresters finished first in Elmhurst College's Bluejay Invitational on Tuesday and won the two-day Marian University Invite on a tiebreaker over the weekend. The team will travel to Madison, Wisconsin, to begin play at the two-day UW-Whitewater Fall Classic on Friday. Lake Forest finished fifth out of 15 teams and posted the best 18-hole round and 36-hole score in program history at last year's event, which was held at a different location.

The Forester cross country teams will be the only ones competing in Illinois on Friday, but just barely. They will make the trek to Rock Island, Illinois, for the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational, which will be hosted by Augustana College. Last Friday's meet was the Forester Invitational, where the Lake Forest men posted their second victory in as many meets this season and the women placed third.

After a weekend off, the Lake Forest College football team will be back in action Saturday evening at Lawrence University. The Foresters are 2-0 and leading the league with 42.5 points and 283 rushing yards per game so far in 2017. The Vikings split their first two games of the season and own a 27-23 edge in the all-time series. Lake Forest, however, has taken the last eight meetings, including a 34-27 decision last year.

The Forester men's golf team is coming off a sixth-place finish at the 35-team Midwest Region Classic last weekend. The team will make its way to Hartford, Wisconsin, on Sunday to begin play at the two-day Wisconsin Lutheran College Fall Invitational. Lake Forest tied for third place out of 13 teams at last year's event.
