The first men's tennis home match of the year and a men's hockey game against Aurora on Saturday are the only home contests for the Foresters in a busy week.

The week's sporting events will begin on Tuesday with basketball games at Beloit College. The women will tip off first and the Foresters will be looking to rebound from a pair of losses last week. They enter the contest 5-12 overall and 4-8 in Midwest Conference play while the Buccaneers are 4-13 overall and 2-10 in the league. Lake Forest prevailed 66-54 at home when these two teams met on November 22 and the Foresters own a five-game winning streak and 43-21 all-time record against Beloit.

The Forester men were also victorious against Beloit on November 22, edging out the visitors 63-60. Lake Forest is coming off a 79-51 win at Knox on Saturday and is now 10-7 overall and 8-4 in the conference. Beloit enters the week 5-12 overall and 3-9 in MWC play. The teams have met 147 times since the early 1900s with the Foresters taking 52 of those contests, including the last five.

The Lake Forest handball teams will travel to Indianapolis for the Circle City Tournament this weekend. Play will begin on Friday and continue through Sunday. Junior Leo Canales will be looking to defend his titles in Open Singles and Doubles.

After a weekend off from competition, the Forester women's hockey team, ranked 6th in the nation, will play at St. Norbert College Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Lake Forest's current 12-game unbeaten streak is tied for the longest in program history and the team is 16-2-1 overall and 10-1-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play this season. The Foresters hosted and defeated the Green Knights 6-3 in November and own a 10-7-3 edge in the all-time series.

The Lake Forest men's hockey team will host Aurora Saturday night and play on the road on Sunday. Saturday will be Alumni Day and the Peter Taylor Award will be presented between the first and second periods. The Foresters, who were off last weekend, enter the series 10-9-0 overall and 6-8-0 in NCHA play while the Spartans are 4-14-1 overall and 4-9-1 in the league. Lake Forest posted a 5-0 victory in Aurora earlier this season and have won three of four meetings with the second-year program.

The basketball teams will be back on action on Saturday at Ripon College. The Red Hawk women are 11-6 overall and in third place in the MWC standings at 9-3 in league play. They won in Lake Forest on January 7 but the Foresters own a 36-26 advantage in the all-time series between the two programs. Ripon's men's team was also victorious on January 7 and have taken 70 of 91 all-time meetings with Lake Forest. The Red Hawks are 14-3 overall this season and in second place in the MWC at 10-2 in the conference.

The Forester men's tennis team played its first two matches of the year last Saturday, defeating Augustana College, the 19th-ranked team in the region, 5-4 before falling 9-0 to host Wabash College which is ranked 15th in the region. Lake Forest will take on Illinois Wesleyan University indoors at the Raquet Club of Lake Bluff on Saturday.

Lake Forest swept the diving events in a dual meet with visiting Illinois Institute of Technology last Saturday and the Forester divers will compete in an event at NCAA Division I University of Illinois-Chicago on Saturday.
