In addition to their membership in the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, the teams competing in the 2016 ACM Soccer Showcase at Lake Forest College have another thing in common - they all have players from the Chicago and North Shore area.
The three-day event begins on Friday, September 9, when the Foresters host Macalester College on Farwell Field. The men's game will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the women's will follow at 4:00 p.m. Lake Forest will take on Coe College on Saturday with the men kicking off at 10:30 a.m. and the women at 1:00 in the afternoon. The teams from Macalester will face those from Lawrence University at the same times on another field on campus. Sunday's men's (10:30) and women's (1:00) contests between Lawrence and Coe will be played on Farwell Field.
The athletes and coaches from all four teams will spend Saturday evening touring various landmarks in the city of Chicago and the 26 local players spread across all eight rosters (see list below) will likely be leading the way.
While the event was organized to celebrate the union of the highly-regarded academic insitutions in the ACM, it will also be a homecoming for several college students hailing from Chicago and the North Shore.
