Get to Know the Forester Staff: Kelsey McAllister Carter

Kelsey McAllister Carter joins the Forester Athletics Staff from the Bowie Baysox, a minor league baseball team from Maryland. Kelsey served as Community Relations and Marketing Manager during her time with the team and has moved into the Marketing and Special Events Coordinator role at Lake Forest.

Event planning and community relations were her favorite aspects of her previous role, and she’s looking forward to translating the skills that she’s honed into her new position at the College. Being a part of collegiate athletics has been a goal that she’s had for a while and an opportunity that she couldn’t pass up. She’s excited to have the opportunity to work with many different sports and a group of different coaches.

Kelsey spent her undergrad years at Millikin University, where she studied Athletic Training. During her time at Millikin Big Blue, she was a student-athlete on the swim team, where she competed in the distance events and was a four-time varsity letter winner. She was the student athletic trainer, a member of the kinesiology club, and was also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority on campus. She held the Marketing Chair position within the sorority.

Kelsey’s home is Maryland; she is the youngest of three and has two older sisters. When she’s home, she enjoys playing with her niece and nephew and eating one of the best things that Maryland has to offer: crab cakes.

Growing up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. and Baltimore afforded Kelsey a lot of great opportunities to learn, explore, and experience. Her favorite spot in Baltimore is the Baltimore Aquarium, and in D.C., it’s the African American history museum. She has brought both of these hobbies and passions with her as she has moved to Chicago. She’s excited to explore the neighborhoods, the museums, and the many restaurants that her new home has to offer. Along with exploring the city, Kelsey likes to take hikes with her dog, Steel, read, watch movies, and practice photography.

Welcome to the Forest, Kelsey!
