On Thursday, April 11, Forester students attended the Senior Forester Game Plan event, the capstone of a four-year career preparation program. The event was held on campus at Glen Rowan House.

The Forester Game Plan is a unique partnership between the Department of Athletics, the Career Advancement Center, and an expansive network of faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the College. The focus – much like a pre-season and/or pre-game plan for any sports team – is on preparing our students for success in the workforce, graduate school, and ultimately, in life.

As the program’s signature event, athletic alumni and professionals from various fields of study and career paths returned to share their own personal insights about career success. Among the companies these alumni represented were Century Link, Medline, Satori Energy, Salesforce, Chicago Bears, and Warren Township High School, to name a few. A list of all alumni who attended is below.

In addition to valuable networking that took place, students also broke up into two sessions that each focused on a different side of job preparation. The first session, led by the Career Advancement Center's former assistant Joe Chmura, focused on how seniors could succeed in the first 100 days of their first job. The second session, which was presented by Hannah Frei, the assistant director of career advancement for entrepreneurship and innovation, shared helpful tips to navigate through the job search process.

The event concluded by giving students the opportunity to network with alumni. Whether a student was still looking for a job, heading to graduate school, or had already secured a position, this was an invaluable program for everyone.
