Jon Flaksman, Men's Tennis

Men's tennis player Jon Flaksman was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after claiming a Midwest Conference championship in doubles and finishing as the runner-up in singles the previous weekend.

Flaksman, a senior, competed the league's #4 singles tournament on Saturday. He won 6-3, 6-1 in the singles quarterfinals and 6-0, 6-3 in the semifinals before falling 6-4, 7-5 in the final.

On Sunday he partnered with freshman Ryan Kreis at #2 doubles. The duo prevailed 6-2, 6-0 in the quarterfinals and 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals to reach the championship match. A 6-4, 6-2 triumph in the final gave Flaksman a conference title in the final match of his collegiate career.

Flaksman finished his four seasons with a combined singles and doubles record of 107-57 and the second-highest victory total in program history. His 57 singles triumphs are tied for second in team history and his 50 doubles wins rank third.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Adams also earned the award once during his freshman season.
